Stair Web Design

Who I Am

I am Jacob Stair, a web/graphic designer who currently resides near Dayton, Ohio. I have recently earned an AAS in software development from Sinclair Community College and am looking for steady employment.

My focus at college was software development, but I have experience with web development and a growing interest in designing websites. I also have years of experience with graphic design from time spent doing digital artwork as a hobby. This includes digital photography and photo-manipulation using Photoshop and/or GIMP.

I am looking for steady employment, but I am also available for free-lance or other non-permanent website design projects. If you are interested, this site has examples of my work along with being an example itself. I also have my resume posted up for any interested parties, which can be found by following the link in the navigation bar. The resume page also serves to hold my contact information.

Thank you for taking your time to review my site.

Updates

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

Did a slight re-work of what content will appear on the site. I decided against the blog, keeping this site a professional one. In its place, I added a showcase of mock site designs to show various ways I could design a site.

I also removed the black navigation bar from projects, until I at least post my Blackjack PHP project. The navigation bar was pointless with only one project to link to. I will get that up and running as soon as I find some more free time.

After officially registering my domain name and setting up some good webspace, I have managed to juggle work and my social life enough to get my site where I want it (for now, at least). I've ironed out some of the smaller details (mostly graphical) and am pretty satisfied with it for now.

There are a few things I still need to do, which basically involves lots of PHP coding. The smaller of which will be setting up a custom-built blog system so that I can easily add blog entries and make it easy for users to view them. The larger of the projects will involve using that system for the updates here along with transferring the rest of the site to PHP so that future pages will be easier to add and changes that will affect the entire site can be made easier.
